If you want something less mainstream, can go take a look at Chevorlet or Skodia.... prices not bad, n they had good reviews also...

I went to test drive both Vios and Altis last weekend.... Not much diff thou....
Only.... For Altis, its more roomy and its quieter when i ram the engine from 0-100....

Currently, for Vios Auto had already run out of stock.... there will only be the new facelift model available....which is $1500 more than the old model...

The agent quoted me a rebate of $400 and plus dunno wat solar film or something..... for both models....Is this a fair deal???? Can squeeze some more???? and squeeze wat??? hahaha....

He also mentioned that i need to use his parf paper in order to enjoy the above rebate....
Will i be affected in any way if i use his Parf paper???

Think I didn't squeeze my agent hard enough, only $500 rebate.  He offered me a so-called discounted rate for V-Kool or Huper Optik, but I didn't take it.

Some agents are willing to give more, some less... yours sounds quite okie.  Mebbe another thing u wanna squeeze is foglamp... abt $150 per pair.

My fren manage to get rebate, spoiler (when the model didn't come with spoiler then), foglamp and something else I can't remember... but she quite pretty lah, so that helps.

Can't advise you on PARF etc cos I can nvr understand how it works, mebbe Thomas can help.

I've emailed to you a car checklist which I find very useful when taking over the car.

PARF is a rebate not refunded in cash when the car is deregisted. However, it can be use to offset the cost of the vehicle when you register a new car.  He is probably using it as a bait to entice you to buy the car through him.

black car easier to get "kissed' by other cars especially during evening n nite time. got a fren who got 'kissed' not long ago. he is also driving a black accent like mine. he confronted the driver who 'kissed' his car n guess wat's the reply? i was sleepy and some more your car is black. I couldn't c it.

Black, Red and possibly silver are very popular colours................to get scratch..

All I know is booking fee is $5K so the agent can start bidding for coe. And the insurance for me is around $1829 (must pay full when I make the payment?)

Not a veteran but just some personal advice..

Juz 2 share wat I hv encountered during the process of getting my 1st car:

My 1st agent asked me 2 fork out ard $1k as a deposit so she could apply the loan 4 me (tactic lah! 2 lock u 2 them.) B4 I passed her the chq, we agreed on these freebies: solar film, sports rims, leather seats n CD changer. Few days later she called me 2 inform me my loan was rejected. But, she could help me by submitting my loan 2 another credit company but I need 2 sacrifice 1 of the freebies due 2 her company won't earn much if I took up the offer of this credit company (bullshit lah! y shd I sacrifice my freebies?) Aft knowing my loan got stuck @ her side, I contacted another agent at the same time. Guess wat's happen? This lady said I DO NOT even hv 2 place any deposit n she could gv me the same freebies juz like my 1st agent PLUS a mp3 HU. She even came 2 my hse 2 collect my doc (gud svc, man!) For the loan issue she helped me 2 think of a way by reapplying using my wife's name n it got thru. Yahoo....

Lesson learnt: 1. I dun hv 2 place any deposit 4 the loan application. 2. If 1 agent failed doesn't mean u can't buy the car. Luk 4 another agent. He/she may help u 2 think of a way.

End of story...

 One advice: When you test drive a car, use your father/mother/wife/girlfriend license to register so you won't be tied to the SE. If SE not willing to give more things during bargaining, just walk away and find another SE, using another license.

17K.. that's cheap for a car. Average of 1.6K per year and only $4.38 per day ;)

cheap indeed and it claimed to go 15-17km per litre.
but since its a OPC, its more like $12 per day.
