do you guys think it would be better off if all forum activities are broadcast to all players?

currently, players are informed via email when there is a new topic, however, not everyone is aware when there is any reply to the topic (except the topic starter himself).

some prefer to be notified instead of having the visit the site too frequently, while the others might want their mailbox speckless clean.

thus, i would like to hear your feedbacks before activating this feature.

My email is underutilised, so not a prob with me in receiving all the notices. 



Alternatively, can each person be given a choice in personal setting?

thanks. also thought of giving an option under profile but slight amendment to the database is required, which i avoid having to do that hehe.

more of finding out if there is any violent objection.

 rather not broadcast to email.

btw, steal your thread a while. How do i mass mail. been missing out on my monthly mass mailing exercise . need to continue the tradition.

mass mailing as in broadcast to all players here? when u start a new topic, you are already mass mailing to everyone.

anyway, i have enabled the feature to inform everyone about forum's activities, considering that the activity is relatively low.

as and when players find their email overloaded with emails, i will look into including an option in profile.

i think it;s absoutely fine to be in teh way that it is now! can't be spoonfeeding us all the while. The purpose of a forum is to let pple voice out their opinion and let all log on to the website on a regular basis thingy. so i think if we do everything so considerately, we somehow lost that "human touchie" that i'll refer to in football terms the introducing of the video assistance. ya

another proposal is to have a seperate "forum" whereby everyone will be notified via emial but only strictly for posting of impt soccer msg.



eg confirmation of kickaround/ matches, last min changes

my coding is yet scalable to handle two for more orums at the same time, but will look into that having that when we have more members joining in.



with regards to alvin's opinion, actually my intention aint to spoonfeed the guys, but to keep everyone is aware of what others want to relay.



there are times when the forum is relatively dormant.

players might feel reluctant to logon aftera while, realising that there isnt much activities going on here.

thus, by broadcasting every message will give them no chance of saying "i wasnt informed! i hardly logon to the website!"
