Be prepared to pay at least 60 per min instead of per game!

So far he seems to be only getting all the low profile matches... mebbe there are still some bias in FIFA. Hopefully after dishing out 10 yellows yesterday he still get to referee in the knockout stages.

I think he is trying to set a world record for singapore sia.....most yellow cards in a game...1st red card in the world cup...1st ref to flash 2 red card.....

Checkout the stats page for the WC on soccernet....
Our very own Mr Maidin is actually ranked 2nd behind Graham Poll in terms of perfomance in the WC....

Cool!!!!

Singapore Number 1 to show red card in this world cup.:P

http://goals.infigaro.com/1st-redcard-at-the-2006-fifa-worldcup

Based on my records he is the first referee to show red card in 2 consecutive games.

Till now, he was the referee in 3 games.

Trinidad & Tobago vs Sweden (0 goals, 1 red card)

Mexico vs angola (0 goals, 1 red card)

Costa Rica vs Poland(3 goals, 0 red card)

Well done!!!

* see that you either get goals or red card with him around.

But Graham Poll (Man Utd penalty giver) yesterday shown 3 red cards!!! One guy, was shown 3 yellows before a red in the Croatia vs Australia Match. It was pure madness....

Didn't watch the Aust-Croatia match yesterday but read that Graham Poll dish out 3 yellow cards to the same player b4 sending him off... haha, don't think he will referee another game liao.

From www.teamtalk.com -- Premiership referee Poll had a nightmare while officiating in Australia's 2-2 draw with Croatia on Thursday night, which saw the Socceroos progress from Group F to book a second-round clash with Italy.

Poll booked the Croatia player Josip Simunic three times, only sending him off on the third occasion.

However, there will be no immediate response from FIFA, with a spokesman saying: "We had a first in the history of the World Cup, unfortunately, when a player received three yellow cards - this is a little bit too much.

"In terms of the referee, this will be analysed and we cannot make any further statement on that."

FIFA did admit that, had Australia lost the game and gone out of the World Cup, they would have had grounds to request a replay.

FIFA president Sepp Blatter admits he would have expected either one of the two linesmen or the fourth official to alert Poll to his error.

Blatter said: "Naturally, referees are human beings and human beings make errors and we have to work against the quota of errors but total perfection does not exist and perhaps it's good because if perfection did exist there perhaps would not be enough discussion.

"I have to say I'm not surprised about the reaction. We have had four officials and what is not understandable is that nobody intervened.

"I can't understand - it's like a black-out that's why I say we are all human beings.

"There are people there and one of them should have intervened and run on to the field and said, 'Stop, stop."'

Blatter would not be drawn on the consequences for Poll, adding: "I place my trust in the referees committee. I think they have enough tact to deal with this case.

"We should not forget that Graham Poll in previous matches achieved fantastic things.

"Of course, we cannot excuse it but we should understand it."

Poor Graham Poll!!!

But how abt this for a headline???

First Singaporean in a World Cup Final!!!
Our very own Shamsul Maidin!!!

Since Singapore always like to create new records, this will definitely go down as one of the most memorable one.... :)

with all the big shots wanting their referee to officiate the big games. of cos FIFA will make arrangement for them loh. Dun forget FIFA depend alot on these big shots to run the event. The sponsors, the host all put in money. Singapore so small country of cos they won't consider. Politics plays a part in such big events....performance not the factor i guess.

statistics seem to support the fact that no south american team has won in europe ....

brazil and argentina both out ..

england going out wasn't much of suprise ..
france dominated the match against brazil.
germany beat argentina on penalties when the game should have been argentina's for the taking ..
italy cruise to semis ...

who is the one will lift the trophy ??

surprised that an under-performed france of late would cruise past brazil.
and it takes a semi-retired zizou to provide the winning touch to knock out both spain and brazil.

go italy!
