the ref took all the climax away from the final by sending off lehman instead of giving barca the goal, though it is deemed to be the right decision.
even so, ten men arsenal took the lead undeservingly from a freekick where eboue earned it by diving.

none of the expected star players shone thruout the game. henry and ronaldino were both guilty of missing good chances, particularly the former.
as heavy rain took over and more dubious decisions from the norwagian referee, arsenal could not contain barca any further and conceded two goals in the last 20 minutes.

credits to arsenal for playing well even with ten men, but barca were even a better side.

Not a happy person this morning. Referee spoilt the CL Final with stupid decisions on the sending off and first Barca goal.

Jux a question to ponder - Do u prefer to haf 1 man sent off or 1 goal down?...

Will King Henry stay?

I think the reserve keeper is not up to the occasion ,  he was beaten at near post for the first goal and defect the second into his own net......

To me, I would prefer 1 goal down. At least it is still early in the game and Barcelona is off form. The Gunners would blow them away if we have all 11 players on field instead of 10.

i thought the reserve keeper did well enough, at least he has got the nerves and steady pair of hands.
both goals might not have went in so easily if not for the downpour.

imagine it was david james between the posts.

The keeper did okay.. but i thought he could have done better with the goals he conceded..

This first was near post.... 1 rule for keeper is never get beaten at near post..
The 2nd was a very awkward goal.. deflected in his own net

overall, barca just about were the more dominating team, but i am certain that things will be different if Arsenal had 11 men at the same time as i think they would have attacked more like in the opening 5 minutes.

Henry to stay or go?
I suspect he should stay... he's a person who's very self concious of other's opinion about him.

if he joins barca, there is nothing else to improve for a team that is la-liga and champions league champion..Whats there to prove? Even if he wins champions league at barca next year, ppl will remember that did so even without him the previous year...moreover, he will be scorned as a quitter for abandoning the team that has loved and admired him for the last 7 years.. not winning the champions league and dissapointment will also show that he is unfulfilled yet at Arsenal.

Whatever the case, even if Henry goes.. life still goes on at Arsenal...  like anelka, overmars, petit, viera, edu ....
There may never be another like henry again .. but it opens doors for other youngsters and more importantly is diminishing their reliance on a single player and learn how to operate as a team... if you look at Barca, their passing is truly telepathic. Although they have star players, the most important thing about their game is their teamwork and passing... Credit should go to riikard for gelling the team .

great to know that henry is staying !! with a move to a new stadium, $$ from champions league to buy new players ... youngsters developing .. next year will be a fun year to watch a team with so many unknown players developing into big names--

here's the rating i give them thus far

kolo toure - 8.5  .. this guy is a steal ... costs so cheap and proven so reliable at the back
cesc fabregas - 8.0 ... very good touch, vision .. would give him more points if he's going to get more physical
philip senderos - 8.0 .. looks slow and much maligned, but so was tony adams when young when he was labelled "donkey"
glichy - 8.0 .. another ashley cole in the makings
RVPersie - 7.0 ... looks good technically, but lightweight and selfish at times
flamini - 7.5 .. unsong hero , not outstanding but he's dependable and committed like lee dixon on the left ..
adebayor - 7.0 .. he's a kanu replica,
Walcott - 9.0 Watch out for him ! he will leave defenders for dead with his pace
Reyes - 7.0 ... thus far already his 3rd season , but not developed to the expectation of him given his price tag.
Helb - 7.0 .... performances range from avg, to above avg..  a bit lightweight
Diaby - N.A ... haven't seen much of him yet.

I just love arsene wenger for picking players with unknown quality and developing them.. buying star players at their peak doesn't look like his style.
Maybe with the new stadium and new funds ... this policy will change?

Arsenal need to buy some exciting wingers and a CM who's standing in for Diaby, and a striker like torres.. no need to invest in defence.. looks like they've enough depth there next season.

after watching the CL final.... can really say that these 3 players .. henry, ronaldinho, e'to are playing at a level above everyone else ...
