good to see that we are playing on proper pitch more frequently these days.
i believe this will eventually help us in familiarising actual gameplay and maintain our fitness when dealing with upcoming matches.

since we already have this primary essential in place, i suppose we can now look to improve ourselves as a team.
would like to hear some suggestions/discussions on how we can inject more fun and teamwork, not restricting to only gameplay.

e.g.
- use the funds to buy extra pairs of gloves in case none of the keeper can turn up.
- standard communication jargons we can use on the field.
- reserving part of the time to practise set pieces.
- how to bring in new blood.

anything under the sun, guys.

Steady lar!

Half the field at bt merah is usually free at 10.30. We can use it to practise set pieces (corner, penalty kicks, etc) for players who are keen to share and to learn.

Personally, I feel that establishing good communications helps me enjoy the game a lot. Some jargons that I've found to be useful:

Man On! = Opposition closing in
Clear! = Clear the ball out of Danger ASAP
Time! = (opposite of Clear!) have time to control, look up and pass
Support Behind (Left/Right) = Support is available behind
Spread (Left or Right) Wing! / Flanks = pass to the L/R
Bring Up = Bring the ball forward
Push! = Pass the ball down the line (Codeword to pass / beat offside)
One - Two = Signal for Receiving player to return ball to Passer
Keeper = Signal to Goalkeeper to take the ball
Open! / Free! = No markers / Lots of space to control
Overlap! = Supporting player to run in front of player with the ball to receive the pass
If two players is closeby to the ball, the one who wants possession of the ball to shout "Mine" (note: shouting "Let Go" is not allowed)

Besides jargons, raising hands, waving, and pointing to where the receiver wants the ball (like on the head/ at the feet / on the chest) and where the pass is to be made (in front/ behind the defender's head/ down the byline) is helpful too. We can develop other hand signals for different formations (like 2-up or 3-up as we go advanced... jus kiddin, but something like that all would understand). Hand signals is also helpful for set pieces/ corners.

Please add on to the list.

any reason why "let go" is not advisable? confusing?

normally i would use "Turn" (meaning one can turn around as there isnt any threat), which is pretty similar to "Time" and "Open/Free".

well, only players who voted yes get to be rated. i guess it is consistent to let only participants vote who they wanna team up in the first XI.
nevertheless, thks for spotting the flaw. it is now rectified.

good point on the set pieces. trying to improve on my crossing to help in taking corners.
so far, i notice tingfu, herman, francis and boon heng can take good corner kicks. whereas ho soon and justyn are better at free kicks.
anymore to the list?

Very easy, click your attendance as YES first (even tho u not playing), go and vote, and then go click NO again =)

Haha, that was before Kent fixed it.

Anyway, why can't shout Let Go? Got any sexual connotation?

Think "Let Go" is regarded as misleading to the player holding the ball. Can check withthe referee this Sun.
