guys...
i jus wanna say few long comments on the team's play....
on sunday 24th sept i observe that the team panicked alot wenever we hv the ball..even me..haiz
ting fu didnt hv a good game not many ball was given to him....
the forward didnt get or create any chances at all....as they didntt hv any supoort
defenders did well to defend but jus wasnt lucky to concede two luck goals
as for me,...i started on the reserves...n was a second half sub...for desmond(if not wrong)...n did quite good to win a free kick n hv a few shots block...
haiz....my free kick didnt manage to squeeze pass the goal keeper...haha...i tried to but didnt get it in

Well i suggest that desmond should play defender....ting fu in striker...me left mid...(i can cut in or provide flank crosses or shot-in..) n azar as our play maker
kent should play bhind azar, charlton DM,n the one with the no.14 jersey should play DM too...justyn should play right winger....alvin def left

how can?other player i not noe so well

why we seems panicky when we have the ball?
Due to the lack of confidence that we have players nearby to support u, maybe.

always feel ting fu was great on the left.
we need to improvise on our formations. 5-5! haha great one!

Heres my 2cent worth of crap :

I read your concerns about the formation and team play. I suggest during the weekend kick around, try to fix the back 4 together in the same team or at least, the 2 centre backs together. This will allow them to have more understanding. (eg: offside traps and who to cover where..etc)

Same goes for your strikers. They need time to gel.

However try not to deploy your 1st XI in 1 team. You need to discover new blood and also, sometimes, doesnt mean that  to have the best 11 players in 1 team to form a great team. Though winning isnt everything, no1 likes to be a loser at the end of the day.

You can consider to mix and match your current attacking n defending midfielders to get the right combination.

Have fun on field. I will try to come down whenever i can during the kick around at Bukit Merah. Its great to play with you guys.

Greetings from Phuket!!!!

Play me as anchor. Confirm will let in zero goals. Previously two competitive game i played in proves it. Althought 1 goal each went in while I was playing, they were soft goals.
Pardon me for the upfront approach because I just watched ESPN Football talk and they advise scott parker(although I don't play as well as him) to speak out to mclaren that he is good enough to play for England. HEHE

try to slow down the pace, when i play with you guys at hong lim, i alway see that we tend to keep pumping the ball. other than ting fu, i dun see any player that is fast enough. i do not know how you guys play at bukit merah but in order to improve passing, try playing in a small field and try to cut down on high ball.

i think one of the main problem i see is the fact that we are not being aggressive enuff. We need to challenge the opponent more. Maybe we gave the opponent too much respect. Even if they are bigger than us, we got to fight for the ball so as to make it difficult for them.

Defensive duty and winning of possession is something that is not only confine to the duty of the defenders... so every outfield player should try to challenge and win the ball back when possession is lost.

Another problem is after we win the ball back...we did not hold on to possession long enuff.  Its ok if we dun attack, but its not ok if we are not in control.

Nevertheless, our intention is to allow as many ppl to have a chance to play as possible so for that we've achieve. As for controlling the game, well.. we will need to have a standard set of players who played together long enough before in order to click and operate well as a team. Therefore, its a matter of setting our piority. I guess most impt thing is we all enjoy playing so it doesn't matter as much as long as all of us have a good time playing the game whether or not we win.

i'ld like to stay in centre back or right back in competitive matches as i think i can play better there, i have been playing a bit out of form lately and will strive to get back to where i left off.  i think for the last match 2nd half i played better as centre back. I'ld ask the team to be patient. for training wise would like to explore further offensive run up. yea most importantly as david said .... enjoy the game is the most important cheers.
our elusive win will come.

thanks for the feedbacks folks.

we once found a very good defending partnership between gerald and alvin but it was very much disrupted due to gerald's injury and alvin's work commitment.
it is only recently that i try to build our static back four around alson, since he is so keen in that role and he is doing quite a good job.
i guess we just have to carry on doing so for the other departments as well, especially when we are now injected with some new bloods.

nevertheless, my earlier post merely state our game plan for the coming sunday.
in the long run, there are more agenda to make this a better team.

1. regulars, please be regular. e.g. we were playing with four different keepers/fullbacks in our past four matches.

2. we really have to work on some of our fundamentals. the problem with frequent foul throw and not knowing how to deal with throw in is one of the key issues i wanna iron out. we will work on communications and first touches next. i'm looking to dedicate first half an hour of every game to do so.

3. we will build our team A. team A will stick among themselves week in and week out, as much as possible. minor shuffling between respective positions will be done during the training intervals. combining this system with being hopeful that our regulars come regularly, we shouldnt have too much problem playing together, let alone knowing each other's name.

Steady lar!

ok, try to add something which maybe could help.

i think we are better at playing short passes. So dont hold the ball too long and pass at the last minute when you are being closed down by opponent. but that does not mean we should not hold on to the ball. MAybe we can try to always have sort of a triangle formation to pass the ball around and move up? Not sure it works but just trying.

i remembered someone mentioned last sun that we should sometimes played the ball back before going forward. eg when A gets the ball, he can passed back to B (who is behind A) reason being B is at the back so is usually the one with a clearer view of the players up front. B can then distribute the ball better or play 1 - 2 with A. Find it is quite a logical idea.

Ok the morale boosting (crap) idea ... find that we usually score more (ie concede more)when we play among ourselves. During matches, we concede less. Reason being we are better than opponent. Say during friendlies among ourselves, we concede 7 goals because our strikers are too good. Defenders cant stop them. During match we only concede 3. Because our defenders too good, opponent strikers cant score.

I think we should make a decision now about the number of players we are gonna bring there this Sunday.

On the fixtures list I see 18 names, and I know Ho Soon and Jovan's fren (the keeper) are both coming.

Personally I think it is a bit ridiculous to have 20 players vying for 11 spots for a match, which is at most 90 minutes as opposed to our usual kickaround.

Moreover, there are a few new faces which have yet to play with us, or might have just came last week, so I think it would be better for them to bed in with the rest of the regulars first through our usual Sunday kickaround at Bukit Merah Sec instead of going straight to the matches.

It's fairer to them (as they are likely to be substitutes and won't kick a ball at all) and fairer to the more regular ones too.

As such, without meaning to be offensive or discriminating, I would suggest that those new players like Anthony Soh, Soh Yi Lang, Hisham and Azar to give this Sunday's game a miss.

I kind of agree with Boon Heng on his pt...cos its better that the newbies gel with the team first before throwing them in for a friendly matches as they dont how we usually play n vice versa... Anyway its more impt to have fun and build team spirit n bonding.. With tat winning matches will come naturally..

Points to ponder -

We need to be more consisitent in our positions and STICK to ur role in matches as we tend to wonder all around the pitch n STICK to the game plan..

Play HARD not rough....when its come to fighting 50 -50 balls we lack agression.

Composure will come when we pass more often wif ppl asking for balls n running into open spaces.

Lastly, Shout to for communication..as its tough to notice ppl in the field...DUN BE PAISEH...

Actually my preferred central partnership is either Alvin/Gerald/Desmond. All are good headers of the ball and great in different aspects. But they are not available most of the time and since my time more flexible, I was thinking why not convert myself. But if they are available, I would prefer them to be the first choice.

This win is for the whole team, whether if the players are there or not. At least we can start looking forward and forget about the whole dodgy run thing.
