Allo boys, this Sunday I've arranged a match with Anthony's team at Tampines. So there'll be no more training at BMSS (which is not available anyway).
The match is confirmed, kickoff at 10am, so please be there at 9.30am or so.
The venue is at the field next to Block 867, Tampines Avenue 8. See http://www.streetdirectory.com/asia_travel/travel/travel.php?buildingid=3562&masterid=83656&x=39231.6456&y=37474.8676&star=1&starmode=1&level=5
As our dear Kent is away on holiday, I can't get him to change the fixtures. So please reply here or let me know at 96919640 if you're playing (esp the probables). I'm only accepting 16 players.
Right now the confirmed players are: Mervyn Ho Soon Donn David Thomas Ting Fu Justyn Alvin Qinfa Ben Hamir Ishak Alson Vincent
And the probables are: Gerald Jovan

Please wear your BLUE jersey.
Sorry I can't pick any of you up. But if you are taking public transport, I think bus 291 goes to the place from Tampines Interchange. But be careful to board the bus that's going towards Tampines Street 83, as it is a loop service (ie another 291 going in the opposite direction). You can either alight at Block 863 or Block 855 and walk towards Block 867.
As highlighted by Kelvin, this might be an open field, which means that there is a possibility that some other teams might be playing before us. But as we are paying $90 per team, I'm guessing that we should have "reserved" the use of the pitch. Let's see how it goes tomorrow.

Alson, that's Opta stats, not match report, hahaha.
Anyway, I thot the team got some collective stage-fright in the first 25 minutes before I left. Think we can defeinitely play much better than that.

Bugis Beatles 2-2 Getz United - Beatles Battle Back
A Ting Fu's goal 10 minutes from time gave Bugis Beatles a well deserved draw over a Getz United. The 2-2 draw left United in despair, after leading the game by 2 goals till the hour mark. The scoreline could have been more disheartening for United, had it not for the lack of finishing in front of goal for the team in blue.
A 1st half strike from United left the Beatles wondering what went wrong in the defence. A freekick from mid-line into the 18-yards caused a slight confusion in the Blues' defense leading to a well taken goal.
Apart from this only goal, the 1st half did not end without more dramatic actions on and off pitch.
Beatles started the half strongly, with Justyn hacking a shot that slipped pass the crosswork. Getz United almost paid dearly for a penalty which Beatle's lone targetman upfront, Alson, failed to convert. Controversial decision by the man in red left both teams questioning his calls. Wonderkid, Ting fu, was awarded a yellow card for a tackle on the opponent. Getz's sideline was warned not to touch the ball that had gone out of play.
"Just look at the referee's face......" - Getz United "What was wrong with the referee?" - Donn
The start of the 2nd half could not have been much worse for the Blues. United managed to sneak in another precious goal. With time running out and numerous near misses, Lady Luck seems not to be there for the Blues before Alson pulled 1 back! Hardworking Alson's goal seems to have dumbfounded Getz's defence and the whole pitch.
During the hour mark, United would have thought that they had bagged the 2-1 victory. Yet, United's defense went into sleep again. A stray pass from Justyn left TingFu running for it and converting it to the delight of the Blues.
Knowing that a draw will not be enought for both teams, United started to push it's line up in search for a 3rd goal. Credited to the tight defense led by Gerald & Alvin, the wall was never broken down again. Beatles' answer to the bombardment was countless lightning quick counter attacks that so nearly led to a 3-2 or even 4-2 scoreline.
"Great work from our team, we shall have won it easily." - Donn
Boon Heng Retired from Team Matches
Team's regular, Boon Heng, had officially declared this retirement from Team Matches yesterday. He made his appearance on Blues' 2-2 draw along with his wife and child, Oliver.
"We will wait for the day you make your way back onto the pitch on Matchday."
