I agreed with kent about long term commitment issues.... myself....yes..I love to play soccer....and my favourite sport is soccer....LOL...but I am really kinda lazy to keep organize things.....not tat easy in the long run too.....

it's reall take a real patient and damn commited player to do all these work......

good to see so much enthusiasm among the players.
it's always encouraging to see players volunteering to handle the coordination and logistic part of it.

anyway, my stand is quite neutral. a friendly match once every 1-2 months is a perfect interval to me.

would advise to do some coordination when arranging the games, so to avoid any crash of dates.
best if we could nominate a Match Master so that when you have any opposition on hand, it can be coordinated via one primary person.

venue wise, try to keep it centralized or at least near the town.

as for the idea of loser pay all; somehow i would prefer to see the cost being split since it is a friendly match.
when there's something at stake, usually there's more firework.
nevertheless, i won't oppose to it if the majority has the confidence to take up the challenge.

good idea on taking turn to be a MM, though I thought the interval could be longer, to the extend of 3 months or 6 months.

like what Alan has said, liaising and coordinating work can be rather tedious.
assuming we are having match on monthly basis, it takes a few matches (months) to get used to arranging a games for the team.

else, before one gets the hang of it, the role is passed to another unfamiliar hand.
lastly, it's easier for the all our players to identify who is the MM if less rotating is done.

Hmm... Kind of coincidence. This is what we actually re-surfaced during our coffeeshop talk with other teammates after the game just now.

Aside to Kent, can I discuss this with you with regards to our discussion just now via email?

lol, i was actually browsing through the forum to see if u guys actually brought up the idea of amateur leagues since it's rather popular now in singapore since espzen started it a few years ago. Thus, stumbled upon this thread and decided to post my view on it. Would really have rather have the coffeeshop discussion with u guys but couldnt since i'm always in a rush to go off after training. lol

Don't think i can play on both Sat evening then Sun morning again cos wkend must cater some time for family. However, if its a wkday nite league game then Sun morning training games i may be able to play (since i do play with my colleagues occasionally on wkday nites).

Hi David,

Like what I have mention, if you participate in the league then of cos priority is to attend the league. Every week, 5 out of the 20 players that participated in the league will compulsorily need to come back on Sunday training based on rotation basis. If you guys got more energy then feel free to come back on Sunday if you want. In another word, in 1 month you only need to come back once for Sat and Sun.

For now I think we still got ample time to decide on weekdays or weekends league, most importantly is to find out who is interested first.
