Hello Beatles,
Just want to let all new and fresh Beatles to know about some issues that is going on when the organiser booked any football fields for every sunday's trainings.
1) Booking Of Fields - Our organisers would always and most probably will book the field on every sunday morning trainings at Bukit Merah Secondary School (BMSS). It is because firstly it is our self-declared home ground and secondly, the field is rather the most centralised area in Singapore, thus compromising all players to have a more "fair" view and convenience purpose when they come for trainings. However, since this field is for public use, there are cases whereby other people have booked the field at BMSS earlier than us. In this case, we would have to book at other alternative fields which are rather far from their area. Why I'm saying this is because I've heard some new comers find that the area that we booked are too far from their area and etc. Fyi, we have players who stay at Tampines but they came all the way down to Sembawang Secondary School today to have training! Hope you understand what I'm trying to say here.
2) Collection Of Money - As we know, most of the football fields in Singapore are not free for all. We have to pay money to book in order to have our trainings every sunday. Therefore, organisers will collect the specific amount from all players who attended the trainings OR players who have indicated their attendance with a "YES" BUT did not turn up for training. Fyi, the amount of money that we required to book a field is $50 net. No extra or hidden charges. Usually the amount that organisers who collect from players are as follows:
FIRST 10 Players who indicate their attendance with a "YES" will need to pay $3 net. The 11th Player and Onwards who indicate their attendance with a "YES" will need to pay $5 net. This is proposed by Kent, thus if you have any enquiries or have a better suggestion on the money collection, kindly approach Kent on training day itself or give him a call/sms to discuss.
Adding on about the monetary issue, Kent mentioned before that this website that he has created is NOT free. Thus, the amount of money which we paid on our training matches will not only be covered on the field booking but also on the maintainence of the website too. If there are still any remaining amount left, the money will be used on purchasing football equipments like footballs, cones, gloves and etc. for team trainings.
Hope that you will get a better and clearer idea on where and how your money is going about in Bugis Beatles. If you still have doubts, feel free to approach myself or Kent.
Thanks! Tom

well explained, tom.
as much as we all like to play for free, money is needed for exclusive use of field, balls, referee, advertising, hosting fee and etc.
as i've mentioned a few weeks back, our team fund accounts is "audited" by another player on quarterly basis. nonetheless, the book is opened to whoever is interested. if you're keen to find out where the team fund goes to, just let me know and i will show it to you on the next game day.
