Merry Christmas to all beatles!
finally, we are heading back to our familiar homeground in coming January. please note that the first game at bukit merah is on 9-Jan. we are still playing at gan eng seng on 2-Jan.
yes, we heard you and we are gradually implementing some of these changes in 2011. appreciate those positive feedback. to begin with, we are trying out and introducing the following changes:
Pre-selecting Captains & Vice-captains to better utilize our pitch time, we will be nominating the captains beforehand. as suggested, we are leaning towards having best performing regular players being the captains for the following week, subject to their availability. take this sunday for example, the captains for the respective teams would be: Home Team captain & vice captain: Jason Hee & Ash Away Team captain & vice captain: David & Karnex
captains name will typically be released on a Wednesday. vice captains can stand in for the role of captain if they need to absent themselves from the game.
between both sides, they can hand pick their players. for now, this process can be done via forum. with knowledge of who is in their team, they can also decide on their lineup/substitutes prior to actual game.
for tomorrow game, it may be too short of a notice for the captains. thus, we can official start with this trial for next week's game (2-jan).
Team colour while we see what can be done with training vests, it was agreed that we use white as our base colour. thus, home team will always don white by default. while the away team will don blue. nevertheless, players are strong advised to bring both white & blue jersey for all games, because you may switch teams on the day itself, depending on the turnout.
hope all players understand that nothing can be perfectly planned in the initial stage. along the way, we will keep streamlining our games to make it more fun and enjoyable for everyone.

good question.
yeah, i suppose what were done on the pitch can be done on the forum. however, if this is deemed too draggy, both captains can email/call one another to speed up the selection. once finalized, they can post the selection on the forum for all to see.
various captains can try out different means and perhaps a good system may fall into place along the way. i may introduce another method if this approach doesn't work out too well..

I think it might be a little difficult for the caps to do the selection online. Perhaps the players could be pre-distributed, based on rating, or both captains could be pitchside on training day a little earlier and make their choices from the attendance list.
In any case I'm not too big a fan of this system. It's hard to predict the number of pilots or latecomers and one captain might end up shortchanged under the new system. In my opinion the usual way we do team selection doesn't take that long, and to me is the best way of going about.

sure. understand the problem of latecomer and pilots. i can't rule out the fact that captains or half the team shows up late. which was why i used to choose the captains among whom are already there.
no harm giving it a shot for a month or two and see how things go though. we can always revert to our previous routine if it doesn't work out so well.

Fixture for 9-Jan at Bukit Merah is opened up & i would like to emphasize what would be our usual practice, esp for the newcomers. since it is a paying field, we will be collecting a nominal amount from each participating player to subsidized the field cost and team fund.
- it is $3 for the first 10 players who sign up first - subsequent player will be $5 each - if you turn up without indicating your attendance, it would be $10 each - note that slots for paying field are limited within 32-35.
all these are stated in our FAQs. players are encouraged to browse thru those commonly asked questions.

- it is $3 for the first 10 players who joined the Yes list - subsequent player will be $5 each - if you turn up without being in the Yes list, it would be $10 each - if you are in the Yes list but didn't show up (aka pilot), we will collect the $5 from you when we next see you. - note that slots for paying field are limited within 32-35 pax.

Slots for 9-Jan is full for now. for those who are keen can wait for slot to free up, before you can join the Yes list. Otherwise, join us for the 16-Jan training instead.
psss.. I can't guarantee this but usually slots are given up on Saturday evening..
