Plenty of positives to be taken away from today's match. Feels like the team is starting to gel together, and the many training sessions playing together, and against each other has helped or cohesive game immensely. The 4-5-1/4-3-3 tactic seems to be one where we find alot of joy, especially down the flanks. No doubt we were the better team, created the better chances, and by all rights, should have won the match, however that's football, and when it's not your day, it's not your day. Here's what I feel about today's individual performances, do not take any offence, and of course, constructive criticism is always welcome.
Ash: A little shaky at the start of the game, but grew in confidence as the game wore on. Positioning needs to be worked on, with a bit of handling thrown in. Goal kicks need to be improved, but for the moment defenders should be able to help out with kicks.
Kelvin: Man of the match candidate, rock solid at the back as always, putting his body on the line time after time throwing himself into tackles.
Jack HongChuan: Solid performance at the back, dominated aerially and his goalkicks were a constant threat. Great game.
Namka: Equally solid, although you need to be reminded not to use the hands when challenging for the ball. Hopefully you and Jack will form the main central defence partnership for the team for a long time to come.
Nick Lim: Good game at left back, clearing countless balls away from danger. Not much to fault here.
Ting Fu: Great runs down the wing, our main attacking threat. Provided many crosses that could, and perhaps should have ended up in the back of the net, including supplying the assist for our goal after a great run down the wing. Another MOM candidate. Unlucky not to score on at least two occasions, denied by the woodwork.
Renjie: MOM candidate as well. Solid in the middle, beaking up attacks of the opponents. Probably should have scored, but sometimes things just don't go your way.
Francis: Equally efficient as RJ at breaking up attacks, good game, probably need to release the ball sooner in certain situations.
Syahrizal: Didn't seem your normal self today, perhaps the injury played a part. But we all know what you're capable of, so not much to worry about here.
Kent: Great harrying of the opponents, always enjoy playing together with you, could produce a better final ball at times, good game.
Elijah: Not so many runs down the wing today, probably because you ahd to track back often to help out in defence. Good game.
Lione: Lucky goal aside, not much to shout about for my own performance. Caught time and time again by the opponent's offside trap, have to do better to hold my line, should have scored in the 1 on 1 situation as well.
Khairi: Great potential, though has yet to click with the playing style of the side, but these things take time to build up.
Jason Loh: Didn't have much time on the pitch, but from the morning's session, lots of room for improvement. Positional play needs to be improved upon, as well as handling the pressure of opponents.
Karnex: Solid for the most part of his brief stint. Though decision making could have been better for the third goal. Needs to learn when to, and when not to go for the ball.
Alson: Steady, dependable as always. Brought a more physical presence into the heart of defence, marshalled the line well. Good game.
Tom: Didn't have much time, and lacking in match fitness. Could have scored with an opportunity at the near post, won a couple of free kicks which led to good attempts on goal for the team.
As I mentioned, alot to be proud of about today's team performance on the whole, if we can keep this group of players together, we'll be a force to be reckoned with. Once again, I would like to stress that these are simply my opinions about today's performance, and whatever I do say I say with the team's best interests at heart, if you disagree with anything I've said at all, by all means, do make your voice heard, learning is best done as a cohesive unit.

I am a believer of striving for a balanced team over having superstar players and for me personally the match showed that we are close to having a balanced team that isn't heavily relient on any aspects nor are we are terribly weak in any link.

nice in-depth analysis.
overall, i quite enjoyed the game, despite on the receiving end of some high elbows and flailing arms from the opponents.
given that we are defensively strong (esp in the air) & offensively potent (with all the chances we had), it was unfortunate that we did not get the result we wanted.
improvement wise, perhaps we should cut down on shooting stationary balls, and challenge ourselves more on finishing a moving ball. don't neglect other essential attributes e.g. first touch, crosses, ball control and etc.
