it's a great effort by every single one of us to win this game......even though, team orange wasn't really fielding their strongest players, but, not taking any credits away from ourself,

we do deserved this victory....=)
didn't gave up, and kept surging foward, and pack during defence......
it's a collective win for the beatles!

to jason: don't worry too much, u will improve as times goes by.....during 2nd half, u did played better ;)

last, but not least...i think at times during the match, i shouted quite loud at some of our players......

apologizes for tat...as, at times, i got too overwhelmed, and too much into the game.......

i'm just as guilty of being vocal.

it was truly enjoyable seeing our players running their socks off and sticking to the roles tasked to them.
however the result turned out to be, everyone's efforts were admirable.

victory was simply icing on the cake.

Great to see everyone defend as a team... The forward all the way to the defenders all did their part and I thought we kept our shape very well esp during the last 10 min when we're under pressure we still maintain our shape n communication which was the reason we won.

damn, always get these comments from opponents and my friends that we are the Bugis "Beetles" instead of Beatles.. that's why Sheltox, Baygon and other insecticides are mentioned.

Even though i couldn't make it for the match...i can 'see' that the BB team has worked together for this victory, and surely it takes alot of character to play under long period of tremendous pressure for the 2nd half.

Salute...

Whatever others call us, fact remains we won fair and square. Special mention to jason loh for giving the defenders more confidence with a assured performance and the referee for spoting off-sides fast and firmly.

What is really pleasing is the maturity shown by the team to maintain our shape and discipline throughout the match.

here's the match report by the opposition, complimenting the splendid effort put in by our players, organiser & supportors.
good job, beatles.

Oranje falls to the Beatles

Queenstown sec - A rejuvenated Bugis Beatles defied all odds to overcome an experienced Team Orange in a match which saw the underdogs pinned in their own half for long periods. The Oranje army of supporters attributed the loss to Remie's failure to bring along the can of Sheltox which could have wiped out the Beatles even before the ball was kicked.

Prior to the game, there was an air of excitement as the new kit was distributed. Players donned their spanking new jerseys and blended well with the green astro turf. T.O had an early sniff at goal when Chen Loon's shot went straight at the keeper. Danger-man Tingfu, who had turned up for his maiden club Bugis Beatles, almost stole the lead but his shot hit straight at the post.

With the dominance in possession, T.O took the lead at the 17th minute after Fazlin brilliantly dribbled his way into the penalty box before setting up Alan Lam for the opening goal. The joy was shortlived as the Beatles soon found the equaliser from a cornerkick.

The second half resumed from where the first half had left off. Teenagers Safee and Klevyn provided the much needed pace in attack but found no wayward in terms of goal. Despite T.O being the more promising side, it was the Beatles who took the lead. Against the run of play, Tingfu let fly a long ranged shot just after the halfway line, catching the keeper offguard. The ball landed into goal to the jubilation and cheers of the Beatles' supporters.

T.O kept up the pressure to try to level the game. The Beatles' backline defended stoutly, repelling what T.O threw at them. With less than 5 minutes to go, T.O could have grabbed the equaliser from an unlikeliest of sources. The culprit for the miss was the Gaffer himself, who could not calm his nerves in front of goal, sending his shot into the side netting.

The scoreline eventually remained at 1-2 with handshakes going around after the game. The Bugis Beatles are the deserved and T.O will have to reflect on what went wrong for the team.

Haha...I remembered that part...it was damn closed...Jason was on the ground having collided with one of their incoming striker...the ball rolled free towards that T.O player in front of an empty net...i slided over to try and close down his angle and the ball ended up between us with me on the ground....Somehow it managed to roll free again for the guy to line up a shot....but i guess its all covered luckily as his shot ended up in the side netting instead...fucking close.
