A player cannot be offside if:
- They receive the ball directly from a goal kick, a throw-in or a corner
- They are in their own half of the pitch
- They are level with the second last or last two opponents
- They are level with or behind the ball
- They are not actively involved in play, as explained above

Q. A team is awarded with a throw, and the player tried to throw it down the field but didn't even go beyond the line. Is it a foul throw?
A. The ball is only in play after it crosses the line. If it is not in play, there's no foul throw. The same team will throw again.
